Buyer – Defense Strategic Procurement Contract

Pride Now is currently seeking a Buyer to join an amazing team with our client in Indianapolis, IN.

Our client is a global leader in integrated power and propulsion solutions, focusing on delivering cleaner, safer, and more competitive power. As the second largest provider of defense aero-engine products and services worldwide, our client serves customers in 100 countries with 16,000 engines powering various aircraft types.

Expected Duration: ASAP- January 31, 2024

Hourly Rate: $34.25

Summary:

The position of Buyer offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the Supply Chain Management and Defense Procurement teams. As a Buyer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing external supplier and commodity strategies, conducting effective sourcing and negotiations, and resolving supplier commercial issues. Your role will contribute to long-term improvements in quality, cost, and delivery, while supporting key stakeholders and enhancing the commercial performance.

Key Accountabilities:

• Working with suppliers to identify and deliver cost reduction opportunities in line with agreed contracts with deployment of relevant cost models

• Supporting the execution of sourcing and commercial activities to maximize the value proposition across designated commodities / categories

• Developing and deployment of relevant integrated commodity, category or supplier strategies by providing a clear vision and strategic framework for designated supply

• Selecting a supply chain capable of meeting quality and delivery requirements and ensuring the management and rectification of quality and delivery issues

• Ensuring all purchasing records and documentations are correct and maintained in line with regulatory requirements

• Nurturing effective relationships with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external to the function in order to support functional priorities

Basic Qualifications:

• An Associates degree with 3+ years of experience in purchasing, or

• A Bachelor’s degree with 1+ years of experience in purchasing, or

• A Masters degree, or JD/PhD

• In lieu of a degree, 5+ years of experience in purchasing

• In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen
